Acne excoriée des jeunes filles

Acné excoriée des jeunes filles, ook wel acne excoriata genoemd, wordt gekenmerkt door herhaaldelijk pulken en krabben aan bestaande of denkbeeldige huidafwijkingen. Dit leidt tot infecties en littekens van de huid waardoor op acne lijkende verschijnselen ontstaan. De aandoening komt vaak voor bij jonge tienermeisjes met een onderliggende psychische stoornis. Het gezicht, de borst en schouders zijn het meest vaak aangedaan.

De behandeling van acne excoriée des jeunes filles varieert en is gericht op de onderliggende psychische stoornis. De psychische stoornis en de huidaandoening worden behandeld met onder meer hypnose, laser en psychotherapie . Ondersteunende behandeling met antibiotica kan infectie van de huid voorkomen. Het resultaat van de behandeling verschilt per patiënt. Soms blijven littekens bestaan.
